Our Glasgow office makes its mark on the Scottish edition of the CiB awards

Redhouse Lane’s office north of the border has again made its mark on the Scottish edition of the Communicators in Business (CiB) awards, with four projects nominated for this year’s awards.

Re:fresh for Heineken UK has been shortlisted for Best Employee Magazine. It was born out of the Scottish & Newcastle magazine Cheers – which we also produced – when S&N was taken over by the Dutch brewer. An energetic blend of news, company strategy, brand activity and – most importantly – the people behind the stories has made it especially popular among staff.

Spirited for The Glenmorangie Company has also been shortlisted in the same category. The magazine, for the international marketing teams of Moët Hennessey, uses the design essence of the Glenmorangie and Ardbeg brands. It has motivational and ‘best practice’ articles to create a learning platform for staff worldwide; but at the same time, 500 copies of each issue feature a four-page pull-out with local news, giving employees a greater sense of ownership.

Choice for disability organisation Capability Scotland has been shortlisted for Best Stakeholder Magazine. This three-times-a-year magazine goes out to a huge range of audiences – from stakeholders to children to politicians – and is produced in an attention-grabbing, highly readable and easy-to-digest format.

And finally, Business Stream's 2008-09 annual report is up for Best Annual Report glory. Our designers built on the company’s colourful brand identity to create a clear and consistent flow of information for the reader, complemented by modern, vibrant informational graphics. The report was commended as a strongly branded piece of communication without unnecessary hyperbole.

"We're absolutely delighted to be nominated yet again in the CiB awards and especially so with four very diverse pieces of work in three separate categories,” said Stephen Mills, managing director of Redhouse Lane’s Glasgow office.

“I think it's testament to the quality and consistency of our creative team that we can deliver such a high creative standard whether creating annual reports, stakeholder communications or staff magazines. We're now all sitting with our fingers crossed."

The CiB Scotland awards will be announced on 26 February 2010.
