Describe what you like about your job in five words…
The variety, challenge and colleagues.
Who or what inspired you to become a writer?
I wish I could say that the works of Lawrence, Wilde, Eliot et al provided the inspiration – and I do love them all – but it's as simple as having always loved writing and English being one of my best subjects at school/uni. I didn’t ever really consider a different career.
Tell us what elements make up an engaging employee magazine?
Keep management ‘spin’ to a minimum, and cover the issues that really matter to staff, giving them a ‘voice’ in the magazine.

What is your tea of choice?
I get more excited by a decent coffee, but there's always a place for a good old English Breakfast – or peppermint tea if I'm feeling herbal.
Tell us one thing you’ve dreamed of doing, but haven't yet managed?
Buying an Yves Saint Laurent trouser suit. Somehow the budget never quite stretches that far.
Where is home for you?
I love London, but I definitely still call Australia (Sydney) home.
Have you ever interviewed anyone famous?
A few Home & Away and Neighbours stars when I worked in consumer magazines in Australia. But the fact that I can't remember their names indicates they're probably not that famous any more.
If you could host your favourite celeb for dinner, who would it be?
Dorothy Parker would be fabulous for dinner party conversation, but, having been dead for 40-odd years, she's probably not looking her best. So, from the land of the living, I'd have to say what half the women on the planet would say and go for George Clooney because, well, he's George Clooney – heavenly!
